Swagger Petstore MCP server: a demo API to try Voozeo
Updated October 30, 2026
This template turns the public Swagger Petstore demo API into an MCP server, so you can try Voozeo end to end before connecting your own API.
What this API does
Swagger Petstore is the classic demo API of the OpenAPI world: pets, orders and users. Its data is shared by everyone and reset regularly, so use it to learn and test, never for real data. No key is needed.
Tools you get
These tools are suggested for this template. Voozeo lists them after the import, and you choose which ones to enable.
findPetsByStatus: the pets that are available, pending or sold.findPetsByTags: the pets that carry given tags.getPetById: one pet, by its identifier.getInventory: the number of pets per status.getOrderById: one order, by its identifier.getUserByName: one user, by user name.
Three requests to try
Once the server is connected to your AI, you can ask for example:
- "Which pets are available right now?"
- "Give me the details of pet number 1."
- "How many pets are in each status in the inventory?"
Authentication
No authentication: leave the upstream authentication on "None". Only read operations are suggested, so the demo data is not changed.
Create and connect the server
- Select "Create this server" below. Voozeo asks you to sign up, or opens a server already filled in if you are signed in.
- The name, the address of the OpenAPI file, the base URL of the API and the authentication type are filled in. Voozeo imports the file for you.
- Open the "Tools" tab and enable the tools listed above, or the ones you need.
- In the "Connection" tab, copy the address and the key into your AI. See Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code.
You can change everything afterwards: the template is only a starting point. To go further, read getting started and tools.
