Open-Meteo MCP server: weather forecasts for your AI
Updated October 30, 2026
This template turns the public Open-Meteo forecast API into an MCP server, so your AI can read the weather for any place given by its coordinates.
What this API does
Open-Meteo returns forecasts for a latitude and a longitude: temperature, rain, wind and many other hourly or daily variables. It needs no key. Its free use is for non-commercial projects; check the terms of Open-Meteo before a commercial use.
Tools you get
These tools are suggested for this template. Voozeo lists them after the import, and you choose which ones to enable.
get_v1_forecast: the weather forecast for a latitude and a longitude, with the hourly and daily variables you ask for.
Three requests to try
Once the server is connected to your AI, you can ask for example:
- "Will it rain in Lyon tomorrow afternoon? Use latitude 45.76 and longitude 4.84."
- "Give me the daily maximum temperature in Lisbon for the coming week."
- "Is the wind strong enough to cancel a boat trip off Brest this weekend?"
Authentication
No authentication: leave the upstream authentication on "None". The base URL is filled in for you.
Create and connect the server
- Select "Create this server" below. Voozeo asks you to sign up, or opens a server already filled in if you are signed in.
- The name, the address of the OpenAPI file, the base URL of the API and the authentication type are filled in. Voozeo imports the file for you.
- Open the "Tools" tab and enable the tools listed above, or the ones you need.
- In the "Connection" tab, copy the address and the key into your AI. See Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code.
You can change everything afterwards: the template is only a starting point. To go further, read getting started and tools.
