Frankfurter MCP server: exchange rates for your AI
Updated October 30, 2026
This template turns the public Frankfurter API into an MCP server, so your AI can look up current and past currency exchange rates without you writing any code.
What this API does
Frankfurter publishes reference exchange rates, with the latest values, a rate for any past date and series between two dates. It needs no account and no key.
Tools you get
These tools are suggested for this template. Voozeo lists them after the import, and you choose which ones to enable.
get_latest: the latest rates, for a base currency and a list of target currencies.get_date: the rates of one given day.get_start_date: a series of rates from a start date up to today.get_start_date_end_date: a series of rates between two dates.get_currencies: the list of supported currencies and their names.
Three requests to try
Once the server is connected to your AI, you can ask for example:
- "How many US dollars is 250 euros worth today?"
- "Show me the euro to Swiss franc rate on the first day of each of the last three months."
- "Which currencies can I convert with this service?"
Authentication
No authentication: leave the upstream authentication on "None".
Create and connect the server
- Select "Create this server" below. Voozeo asks you to sign up, or opens a server already filled in if you are signed in.
- The name, the address of the OpenAPI file, the base URL of the API and the authentication type are filled in. Voozeo imports the file for you.
- Open the "Tools" tab and enable the tools listed above, or the ones you need.
- In the "Connection" tab, copy the address and the key into your AI. See Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code.
You can change everything afterwards: the template is only a starting point. To go further, read getting started and tools.
